Govt schools providing better education: Collector

“With the Manabadi Nadu–Nedu scheme, the State government schools’ structure has been completely changed. The government is spending crores of rupees to construct additional classrooms, compound walls, toilets and other infrastructure facilities. With these facilities, the government schools are providing better education to the students on par with corporate schools,” said NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao.

Also, the State government has brought many changes in the education system in the State. Besides infrastructure facilities, digital education is practised in all government schools, he added.

Development committee member of the Zilla Parishad High School situated at Nunna Naredla Satyanarayana Reddy and headmaster Vazral Bhupal Reddy felicitated collector Dilli Rao for helping with the school development at the camp office in Vijayawada on Thursday.

They thanked the Collector for sanctioning Rs.2.10 crore for additional classrooms under Nadu–Nedu. Also, they urged the collector to help in sanctioning funds for the early completion of the additional classrooms.

Speaking on the occasion, collector Dilli Rao said that the works of as many as 250 additional classrooms were in progress in the 587 high schools. Also, the construction of 166 compound walls, 391 toilets and 310 kitchen sheds were progressing in various stages, he added.

Further, Collector Dilli Rao said admissions in government schools had increased compared to the previous year. Parents are showing interest to admit their children in government schools as many infrastructure facilities have come available, he said.
