Officials directed to complete survey for voters’ lists

State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena has directed the district official machinery to conduct house-to-house surveys to prepare voters’ lists.

Mukesh Kumar Meena held a video conference on Thursday in which Collector P Prashanthi, Joint Collector S Ram Sundar Reddy and other officials attended.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena inquired the district officials about the progress of the house-to-house survey undertaken for the special short revision list of voters.

He said that Form 6 should be given to new voters who have completed 18 years of age and Form 8 should be given to address changes. He directed the officials to follow the procedure carefully regarding removal of voters from the voters’ list.

District Collector Prashanthi told him that all the programmes in the district are being completed as planned as per the procedures of the state election commission.

She explained to him that the officials were speeding up the house to house survey without any pending special short amendment list of voters 2024. The Collector said that there are 5,60,111 families in the district, out of which 2,60,919 families have been visited by house-to-house BYOs.

Collector Prashanthi said that the survey details of 56,065 families have been uploaded on the BILO app, adding that 4,464 new voters were identified and forms were taken from them. She said that 6,276 families with 10 votes have been identified.

The Collector apprised the state Electoral officer that 105 voters who are over 100 years old have been identified and verified. 6, 7, and 8 forms have been uploaded from offline to online. She also explained the solutions to grievances on Form 6, Form-7, and Form-8 pendency in the district.

The Collector explained that instructions have been given to the authorities concerned to conduct a special drive and give special attention to preparing a list of those in the age group of 18-19, transgender and homeless.

Z. Venkateswara Rao, District Agriculture Officer, DLDO KCH Appa Rao, DWMA PD STV Rajeswara Rao, District Horticulture and Forestry Officer A Durgesh, District Panchayat Officer GVK Mallikarjuna Rao, and other officials were present.
