Harish asks officials to track funds coming from Centre

Finance Minister T. Harish Rao and Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao conducted a review meeting on Friday at the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resources Development Institute on funds due from the Centre for various schemes like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Abhaya Hastam, Interest Free Loans and Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana.

Officials in New Delhi have been directed to monitor funds coming from the Centre to the state from time to time. The flood damage and maintenance fund of Rs 1,867 crore sanctioned by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao recently was discussed on the progress of the works.

The ministers also discussed pending bills due to Gram Panchayats. The authorities want to monitor funds for the next two financial quarters. Harish ordered to ensure that this process continues smoothly without any difficulty in giving pensions.

The meeting was attended by K. Ramakrishna Rao, the Principal Secretary of Finance Department, Sandeep Sultania, the Secretary of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development and other senior officials.
