Minister for Finance T Harish Rao on Monday stressed the importance of keeping the surroundings clean. He took part in a garbage collection drive in the 18th ward in the town.
The Minister exhorted the councillors and officials to conduct such a drive time and again to encourage people to keep their surroundings clean. The drive, he said, was intended to promote sanitation and hygiene in the town.
Harish Rao, apart from participating in the drive, interacted with the people and exhorted them to segregate waste into wet and dry.
The Siddipet Municipality launched several innovative projects. The Minister, during the morning walk, took part in the drive to collect the garbage, plastic waste, chocolate wrappers, plastic and paper glasses and others.
The people’s representatives followed in the footsteps of the Minister and they also took part in the driver.
