Home Minister Anitha is incompetent, says YSRCP Women’s Wing chief

Varudu Kalyani, the president of the YSRCP Women’s Wing and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), has launched a scathing attack on Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, labelling her as an incompetent minister who has neglected her duties and engaged in baseless and inappropriate criticism.
Addressing the media in Visakhapatnam on Monday, Kalyani accused Anitha of being more focused on criticising the YSRCP and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as part of her political agenda. She highlighted that the law and order situation had deteriorated under Anitha’s tenure, citing frequent incidents of murder, attempted murder, and violence. Despite these alarming issues, Kalyani noted that the Home Minister had failed to take necessary action. She also criticised Anitha for not even visiting the family of a young girl who was assaulted in Muchumarri.
Kalyani further lambasted Anitha’s lack of response to the Atchutapuram SEZ blast, accusing her of spreading falsehoods and failing to support the victims or hold the responsible company accountable. She contrasted this with the swift response following a fire accident at the Madanapalle Sub-Collector Office, where officials were promptly dispatched by helicopter, questioning why similar urgency was not demonstrated in the case of the SEZ blast.
In addition, Kalyani condemned Anitha’s language and behaviour, describing her remarks about former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as disrespectful and shameful. She pointed out that no previous female Home Minister had conducted themselves in such an undignified manner. Kalyani urged the Home Minister to act responsibly and refrain from making inappropriate comments.
