IETE Students Forum launched at engineering college

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Students Forum (ISF) was inaugurated at Vikas College of Engineering and Technology in near Vijayawada, on Saturday.
The forum, recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India, aims to improve engineering education standards and provide career guidance to students.
IETE Vijayawada Chapter Chairman Dr. K Surya Prasada Rao explained the benefits of ISF membership, highlighting its support for students through workshops, projects, and seminars.  He emphasized the forum’s focus on increasing student participation and corporate memberships. IETE Secretary Dr. Sk Riyazuddeen outlined planned ISF activities, including technical programs, special lectures, and exhibitions designed to facilitate knowledge sharing on employment, curriculum, and emerging trends.
The inauguration was attended by Vikas College of Engineering and Technology Academic Director Naredla Keerthi, Principal Dr. Parameswara Rao, Dean Dr. Sevuga Rajan, HOD Venkateswara Reddy, and ISF Coordinator D. Rajasekhar.
In a separate event, the Vikas Group of Institutions (Autonomous) NSS Unit, in partnership with INDLAS Hospitals (formerly Vimhans), conducted a mental health awareness program for students. Psychiatrists Dr. Hamini and Dr. P Martin Raj, along with Vikas Group of Institutions Correspondent N. Satyanarayana Reddy, Principal Dr. PS Srinivas, and Polytechnic College Principal N. Gopala Krishna, participated in the session, underscoring the significance of mental well-being.
