Thalapathy Vijay and successful director Vamsi Paidipally’s highly-anticipated film Varasudu will have a grand release on January 12 as a Sankranthi gift in the Telugu and Tamil-speaking states.
Starring national crush Rashmika Mandanna opposite Vijay, this film is being produced on a grand scale by renowned producers Dil Raju, Sirish, Param V Potluri, and Pearl V Potluri under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Creations and PVP Cinema. Made as an out and out family entertainer, hero Srikanth played a key role in this film, and ahead of the film’s release, the actor converses with the media about the film. This is the first time in Srikanth’s career that he has done a Tamil film, and the actor feels extremely happy to make his Tamil debut alongside Vijay.

Asked how he came on board for this project, he said, “Director Vamsi Paidipalli narrated the story. Vijay and I play brothers in the film. This is a very important role that I am playing. Varasudu is an out and out family entertainer. There are wonderful human emotions that you’ll see in the film. Although it is made in both Telugu and Tamil, it is a pure Telugu movie, because Rashmika, Jayasudha garu, me, Kick Shyam, Sarath Kumar, Sangeeta, and Prabhu have all done Telugu films, so this is like a full Telugu nativity movie.”

Furthermore, giving more details about the story, he said, “It contains the emotions that happen between brothers and what kinds of situations exist between them; it is like a good family entertainer. Vamsi Paidipally’s movies have great emotions. It is a pleasure to do this film. Vijay has an amazing craze. He has also not done family entertainment in recent times.”

This is for the first time that they’ve beenworking together, and Srikanth finds Vijay to be very silent. And Guess What? He doesn’t even use his mobile phone much.

About the action fights in the film, he laughed and said, “There is action. But I won’t do that (laughs). It has very good fights. They are also very entertaining.”

Recently, Srikanth was seen as a villain in Akhanda; now he is back at playing another family-oriented role, “I did this role because this is different from what I played in Akhanda. I’m also working on Shankar-Ram Charan’s film, which features a different character. There is an idea to do a different character, I will definitely do it if I like the story and character.”
