District Collector A Shyam Prasad announced a grant of Rs 3 crore for the creation of an innovation hub in Parvathipuram, following its recognition as an aspirational district by the NITI Aayog. The announcement was made during the district-level educational science exhibition held at DVVM School, organised by the Education Department.
“The creation of this innovation hub will serve as a game-changer for our district,” said Collector Shyam Prasad. “With dedicated facilities for Physics, Mathematics, and even a planetarium, the hub will provide substantial benefits to students, particularly in these crucial subjects.” The innovation hub aims to nurture the intellectual potential of students in the district, providing them with essential resources to excel in key subjects like Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Biology.
During the exhibition, Shyam Prasad inspected creative stalls designed by students, showcasing their innovative ideas and projects. He applauded the district’s educational achievements, highlighting Parvathipuram’s remarkable first-place ranking in the state for the tenth-grade pass rate over the past two years.
The Collector, who has a deep passion for Physics, also reflected on his experience as a former physics teacher. He emphasised the critical role science plays in understanding the world around us and urged students to cultivate a habit of questioning. “Scientific exploration begins with asking questions. Always seek clarification from your teachers when in doubt,” he advised, underscoring the importance of mastering key subjects like Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Biology for fostering creativity.
In his motivational address, Shyam Prasad invoked the legacy of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President and distinguished scientist. He highlighted the critical importance of nurturing future generations of scientists, emphasizing that the students of Parvathipuram possess the potential for groundbreaking scientific achievements through the cultivation of creative thinking.”
As part of the ceremony, the Collector presented mementos and certificates to the winners of the educational science exhibition and the quiz competition. District Education Officer Dr N. Tirupathinayudu highlighted the scope of the exhibition, noting that 45 exhibitions from 15 mandals were selected for the district event.
