Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu strongly criticised Minister for Energy, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, holding him responsible for the Angalla violence.
Addressing a large gathering at Angalla on Friday, Naidu said, “I will never forget the destruction caused by the YSRCP at Angalla and Punganur. Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and the police wing are solely responsible for the devastation we witness here today.”
Naidu, who visited the ruins of the irrigation projects as part of his ‘Yudha Bheri’ programme, questioned whether Punganur is Peddireddy’s fieldom. ”Should I not come here, Peddireddy?” asked the TDP chief.
Stating that the YSRCP leaders would have to face the consequences if people revolt against them, Naidu stated that leaders should uphold democratic values and live respectfully. He assured the people that he would stand firmly with them in their ongoing fight to protect democracy.
”I understand your frustration, brothers, and I believe the days of this Government are numbered. The countdown has begun for this ruling dispensation,” remarked Chandrababu. He pointed out that the TDP candidates were not allowed to file their nominations in Punganur, and the ruling party leaders engaged in various irregularities during sarpanch, MPTC, and ZPTC elections as well.
Referring to the recent successful TDP meeting at Pulivendula, Naidu roared in Punganur, rallying the crowd with enthusiasm. ”Brothers, why not Punganur, and why not 175?” exclaimed Chandrababu amidst thunderous applause.
He vowed to take responsibility for ending what he called a “dictatorship” and urged the people to move forward with confidence, as the end of this Government is not far off. ”Several activists of our party suffered injuries in the attack, and let us take an oath to make them sit at home permanently,” Chandrababu commented.
Addressing the police, Naidu called for proper implementation of law and order in the state and urged them not to bow down to pressure from the ruling party. He held the district Superintendent of Police totally responsible for Friday’s incidents and threatened to take appropriate action against the SP.
The TDP supremo personally met all those injured in the clash and assured them of his unwavering support.
Chandrababu Naidu directed the local TDP leaders to ensure that proper treatment is available to all of them.
