The TRS seems to be trying to attract former Naxalites as alleged by BJP National Executive Committee member and Huzurabad MLA Eatala Rajender on Saturday. Rajender, after visiting Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind’s residence, said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to make former Naxalites carry out attacks. He said these attacks are meant to intimidate people who question the government, including opposition leaders.

Whether incidental or not Telangana Endowments, Law and Forest, Environment, Science and Technology Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy met former Maoist Party Central Committee member Oggu Satwaji alias Sudhakar on Sunday at Sudhakar’s residence. Indrakaran not only met Sudhakar but also had lunch with Sudhakar’s family.

It may be recalled that Sudhakar joined the Peoples War Group in the 1990s and was its Central Committee member and Andhra–Odisha Border Political Secretary. Sudhakar had surrendered to the government recently along with his wife and has been leading a normal life.

Indrakaran went to their residence and had lunch with the Sudhakar couple and also enquired about their well-being. Indrakaran also assured the Sudhakar couple that the TRS government would stand by the families of former Naxalites who are leading a normal life after leaving the Maoists. Indrakaran also told the Sudhakar couple that the TRS government will continue financial assistance and rehabilitation programmes for Naxalites who had surrendered to the police.
