The ruling YSRCP leaders paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his death anniversary at the YSRCP party office at Tadepalli on Wednesday. Minister Meruga Nagarjuna, MPs Nandigam Suresh, Gurumurthy, Legislature Whip Lella Appireddy, party SC Cell State president Jupudi Prabhakara Rao and others paid tributes.
Meruga Nagarjuna said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was following the path laid by Ambedkar in all aspects related to administration. “On the occasions of Ambedkar’s death anniversary and birth anniversary, political party leaders garland his portraits and statues. However, they show negligence in following the ways suggested by him to eradicate poverty and achieve equality. YS Jagan is the person who is implementing them to achieve equality, not in the cabinet, not in other posts, but in the schemes being implemented,” he said.
MP Nandigam Suresh said that with the vision and ideas of Ambedkar, India was able to achieve a good place among world countries. He said that through Nadu-Nedu, government schools were being developed and the children from economically backward families were receiving good education so that they could compete globally.
“The Opposition leader proposed to install Dr Ambedkar’s statue in a corner of Amaravati while CM Jagan installed the statue in the heart of Vijayawada city, which will be a tourist attraction in the days to come,” he added.
MP Gurumurthy also said that Jagan was the only CM who was implementing Ambedkar’s ideologies in India. Jagan has designed the education system to provide education to all children without any discrimination. Ambedkar framed the Constitution of India keeping in mind equality, he explained.
Lella Appireddy said that in India, where there were different religions and castes, everyone was able to live peacefully because of the Constitution written by Dr BR Ambedkar. He said that it was equal to a holy book for India. In Andhra Pradesh, CM Jagan has been following the path shown by Ambedkar to eliminate poverty among SC, ST, BC and minority communities.
