In a sensational statement, Andhra Pradesh Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna has said that YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will decide on the issue of extending support to BRS if such a request is made by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Addressing media persons at a press conference at the YSRCP central office on Monday, Sajjala refused to comment on the reports that the BRS was gearing up to fight elections in Andhra Pradesh too. “Any political party can field its candidates from anywhere,” he said while dismissing speculations that the YSRCP was inclined to take an electoral plunge in other states. “A political party can contest from anywhere.

We have no intention of contesting in Karnataka or Tamil Nadu. Our Chief Minister thinks only of welfare and development of Andhra Pradesh and nothing else,” he said. “YSRCP has no intention whatsoever of fighting elections in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has no other thoughts except those focused on the development and welfare of Andhra Pradesh,” he clarified. Sajjala also asked the media not to politicise his recent comments on bifurcation and reunification. “YSRCP was the only political party that stood for a ‘Samaikhya Andhra Pradesh’ (unified Andhra Pradesh). The hearing on bifurcation is still going on, even after eight years. My comments in this regard need not be politicised,” he said.
