The movie is currently making headlines once more, and this time it’s because of its large budget and the exorbitant wages of its two main stars.
The filmmakers are apparently spending a staggering amount to make the picture, and they are doing everything they can to meet the astronomical expectations.
The Variety story states that Joker 2’s budget has increased to $200 million. This is more than three times the budget of phase 1, which was allocated $60 million. It guarantees that the movie will be produced on a massive scale and with good technical quality.
According to the story, Joaquin Phoenix, also known as the clown prince of crime, will receive an incredible $20 million in pay to play the title role in which he won an Oscar. Based on reports, the actor received $4.5 million for part 1, which translates to a 344.44% increase. Speaking of Lady Gaga, it has been rumoured that she received an incredible $12 million to play Harley Quinn.
