In a move underscoring the importance of national solidarity during times of crisis, veteran actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan has announced the postponement of the audio launch event for his upcoming film Thug Life, originally scheduled for May 16, 2025.
Issuing an official statement on behalf of Raajkamal Films International, Kamal Haasan emphasized that “Art can wait. India comes first.” The decision comes in light of heightened alert along the nation’s borders and growing security concerns.
“As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defence of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration,” he stated. While a new date for the audio launch will be announced later, the actor urged fellow citizens to exercise restraint and join in reflection rather than festivity.
“Our thoughts are with the brave men and women of our armed forces who stand vigilant, safeguarding our nation,” he added. “As citizens, it is our duty to respond with restraint and solidarity. Celebration must make way for reflection.”
