In a stirring moment that embodied patriotism, adventure, and a strong connection with the Indian Navy, Rear Admiral RS Dhaliwal flagged off the ‘Khamree Mo Sikkim Car Rally’ at the War Memorial in Visakhapatnam here on Sunday. The rally is now en route to its next destination, Hyderabad, on its extraordinary journey across diverse terrains and landscapes.
The rally participants, comprising enthusiastic and daring individuals, had the privilege of not only embarking on this thrilling adventure but also gained unique insights into the Indian Navy. During their stopover in Visakhapatnam, they visited INS Kalinga and the Naval Dockyard, where they had the distinct honor of interacting with the dedicated crew of the naval warship, INS Ranvijay.
Rear Admiral RS Dhaliwal said that what makes the ‘Khamree Mo Sikkim Car Rally’ stand out is its remarkable journey thus far, which has seen the participants traverse a staggering distance of 4800 kilometers.
This exceptional feat is a testament to the team’s unwavering determination and tenacity, conquering challenging terrains and landscapes along the way. The rear admiral also said that beyond the thrill and adventure, this rally carries a noble mission – to inspire and motivate the youth to consider a career in the Indian armed forces. Along their journey, the rally conducts outreach programs in schools and colleges, aiming to ignite the dreams of young individuals who may find their calling in serving the nation through the armed forces.
The ‘Khamree Mo Sikkim Car Rally’ embarked on its inspiring journey on September 24, 2023, with a grand flag-off ceremony at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, led by Commodore Mohit Goel, the Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji. Since then, the rally has been a source of inspiration, adventure, and a rallying point for those with a deep love for their country.
