Koppula Raju to take part in meet on land for poor

The Andhra Pradesh Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham has invited Congress leader and former IAS officer Koppula Raju, who earlier worked as a secretary of the ‘Koneru Ranga Rao Bhu Committee’, as a chief guest for the ‘Bhu Sadhana Rashtra Sadassu’ to be conducted in Vijayawada on December 21. The AP Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham leaders met Koppula Raju at a hotel in Vijayawada on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Andhra Pradesh Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham president and former MLC Jalli Wilson said that the State government should include the recommendations of the Koneru Ranga Rao Bhu Committee in the government’s ‘Navaratnalu’ scheme. Also, the government should take steps to distribute land to poor people, he said.

He further demanded that the government cancel the amendments to the law on the sale of assigned lands and the 9/77 Act. In this regard, AP Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham is going to organise a ‘Bhu Sadhana Rashtra Sadassu’ at the Siddhartha Academy at Mogalrajapuram in Vijayawada on December 21, he added. He said that former IAS officer Koppula Raju had made various recommendations to the State government to do justice to the landless poor.

Also, Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union national leader and former MP Nagendranadh Ojha, former MLA K Ramakrishna, and others will take part in the programme, he added. Dalit Hakkula Porata Samiti organising Secretary Butti Rayappa, Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham treasurer K Eswara Rao, leaders M Vijay Kumar, U Narasimha Rao, and B Deshan Naik attended.
