Last date for home voters to submit applications is April 22

With the Lok Sabha elections are round the corner, Telangana State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj outlined the procedures for eligible voters who wish to cast their ballots from home and emphasised that they should submit their applications by April 22, during a press conference held at BRKR Bhavan on Monday. The Lok Sabha elections will be held in Telangana on May 13.
He said that Telangana has 3.30 crore voters, including over 1.94 lakh senior citizens above 85 years of age. About 5.26 lakh electors are physically handicapped (Divyanja) individuals.  Following the State Assembly elections conducted in November last year, nearly 12.50 lakh new voters have been enrolled while 8.58 lakh names were deleted. The net addition of voters stands at four lakh.
Highlighting the significant utilisation of postal and home voting during the previous Assembly elections, the CEO informed that EVM ballot papers would be printed near Chanchalguda.
He directed the officials concerned to facilitate the distribution of Form-D and ensure the availability of postal ballot printing services through Returning Officer (RO)
Moreover, he said that over 60,000 police personnel besides 145 companies of Central Armed Police Forces will be deployed for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Telangana.
