Must read

Lemonchilli Farms, a Hyderabad-based firm, entered into an agreement with Dutch PIB to develop sustainable solutions for Indian farmers.

The agreement aims to equip Indian farmers with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle the everyday challenges they encounter. This collaboration will leverage the collective experience and expertise of the field experts to provide comprehensive training to the farmers. The ‘HortiRoad2India’ is organised by the Netherlands Embassy in India, Dutch Greenhouse Delta, and Innovation Quarter, Rotterdam Partners.

Lemonchillii has partnered with a delegation of Dutch companies, which includes Priva – India, Bayer, Crop Science, Hoogendoorn Growth Management, Broekman Logistics, Lumiforte, Koppert, Meteor Systems, Ridder, Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects, Wageningen University & Research, and Viscon Group.

Speaking of the agreement, Lemonchilli COO, Ritish said, “We will assist farmers across the country in overcoming their daily challenges. The growing need to provide quality food at affordable prices has resulted in the adoption of industrial and harmful agricultural practices over the past few decades. However, with the rising awareness of soil degradation and environmental pollution, the focus is now on ensuring the long-term sustainability of food production systems. This collaboration will provide Indian farmers with the opportunity to gain knowledge about sustainable food production techniques from around the world and learn new and effective methods of farming.”

FR (Flip) Van Noort, a representative of the Dutch delegation said, “I am considering establishing a research unit at the Lemonchilli farms. It is a great initiative on which Lemonchilli is working. It will provide a great relief to the farmers along with adopting the latest technology for conducting their daily tasks.”

The  delegation visited the Lemonchillii’s state-of-the-art farm during which discussion on several topics took place including sustainable farming methods, collaborating with Dutch companies in sharing good agricultural practices and technologies, cultivating nutritious clean and fresh produce and health-enhancing nutraceuticals, implementing state-of-the-art AI systems to understand and resolve day-to-day challenges.
