An alleged fraudster cheated a teacher of Rs 1.70 lakh in the guise of securing a Rs 50 loan for her. The incident happened in Bejjur mandal.
The alleged fraudster promised to secure the loan for the teacher, the police said. The alleged fraudster’s bid to extort more money from the teacher aroused suspicion and she approached the police.
More people are likely to approach the police to complain against the alleged fraudster. The police are yet to identify the man who allegedly cheated the teacher of her money.
The Cyber wing of the police registered a case and an investigation is on.
