TDP national general secretary and former minister Nara Lokesh will be coming more close to the people through his padayatra titled ‘Yuva Galam’ (Youth Voice) from January 27. Lokesh will undertake a 4,000-km-long padayatra for 400 days beginning from January 27 only to move closer to the people.

Briefing media persons on the details of the padayatra after unveiling the posters and the flags, the TDP leaders said here on Wednesday that the programme of Lokesh was not a pre-designed one like that of Jagan Mohan Reddy, who undertook such a padayatra before becoming the Chief Minister.

Observing that the youth played a major role in nation-building, Atchen Naidu said that the youth in the State were fortunate enough to have a leader like Lokesh. Almost all the industries moved out of Andhra Pradesh due to the destructive policies adopted by this government, he remarked.

TDP politburo member and former minister Nakka Anananda Babu said that Jagan Mohan Reddy could be thrown out of power only if awareness was brought among the youth. “Jagan, who came to power by promising to implement prohibition, is now selling adulterated liquor and all the liquor shops and distilleries are being managed by the government,” he said.

Another TDP politburo member, Kalva Srinivasulu, said that Lokesh, during his padayatra, would directly interact with all the people to have first-hand information on the problems being faced by them. “Lokesh will certainly try to build self-confidence among the youth, who are now totally disappointed with this government’s policies,” Kalva Srinivasulu remarked.

Former minister and TDP politburo member Nimmakayala China Rajappa expressed the hope that the 4,000-km-long padayatra of Lokesh would be a resounding success. The former chairman of the Legislative Council and party’s politburo member, Sheriff said that he was happy that Lokesh, known for honesty and credibility, was going to mingle with the people to share their problems. It is the TDP that promises a good future for the youth, the party leaders said.
