RI, Surveyor held while accepting bribe

Revenue Inspector A Vijay Kumar and Surveyor SK Jilani of Kurnool Rural mandal, Kurnool district, were caught red-handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau officials on Wednesday.

On the complaint lodged by one M Srinivasulu, Stantanpuram village, to the DSP, ACB, Kurnool, stating that A Vijay Kumar and SK Darga Jilani demanded Rs 1,60,000 as bribe to process an application pertaining to conversion of agricultural land into residential land.

In this connection, the ACB officials laid a trap against Vijay Kumar and SK Darga Jilani and caught them while accepting the bribe. The accused were arrested and produced before the Court for SPE & ACB Cases, Kurnool. A case was registered.
