LS polls a litmus test for KCR, BRS

Must read

SNCN ACHARYULU

There was a campaign in the political circles that BRS president and the former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has a habit of sending out party leaders who blocks his way in the party. Since party inception KCR has sent out from the party around 50 leaders from Ale Narendra to Etala Rajendar.
Now the BRS leaders are giving a return gift to KCR by leaving the party on their own when the party is in deep trouble. It appears that when BRS was in power, KCR played with the leaders and when the BRS is out of power the leaders are playing with KCR. It shows that the chief minister’s post has given more strength to KCR than the BRS president’s post. Meeting Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy by the BRS MLAs and skipping the review meetings by BRS MLAs helding by none other than KCR are some examples for this.
When KCR was the chief minister, the party MLAs were afraid of going against his views. Now they are feeling like free birds. Two sitting MPs and one MLC leaving the BRS and joining the Opposition parties shocked the BRS circles. During the elections time, changing the parties by the politicians is common in every State. If the sitting MLAs or MPs does not get a ticket again, changing the party by them is also common whether in the ruling party or in Opposition party.
But changing the parties by those who were in a position is rare. Zaheerabad BRS MP BB Patil and Nagarkurnool BRS MP P Ramulu left the party much before KCR took up the exercise of selection of party candidates. Perhaps they might have smelt about the denial of tickets by the party leadership or they might not have confidence on winning as BRS candidates again even though they will be given tickets.

There was speculation that Mahabubabad BRS MP M Kavitha is also likely to leave the party and join the BJP.  But in the first list of BRS, Kavitha’s name was there from Mahabubabad. The BRS leadership feels that leaving by some leaders is good for the party. The BRS circles feel that the future of the party and their feature depends on the performance of the BRS in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. After the defeat in the recent Assembly elections the BRS and its leadership became weak and if in the coming Lok Sabha elections also BRS fails in preforming well, it will become further weakened. The BRS leaders will lose confidence on their political future and find their own way. The coming Lok Sabha elections.
