Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unveiled the ‘Telangana Thalli’ statue on the secretariat premises on Monday.
Addressing the gathering he said that Telangana is moving from crisis to welfare and from corruption to development and reconstruction of the state.
He said that some people are feeling pain, anguish and sorrow as they think that decisions of the Congress Government like installing the Telangana Thalli statue on the secretariat premises are dangerous for their political survival. Telangana State was not created for a family or a political party, he said.
The CM said that Telangana’s culture was ‘assaulted’ and ‘insulted’ in United Andhra Pradesh. After the formation of Telangana, a person and a political party gave priority to themselves and ignored the people of Telangana, he said.
Later, addressing the meeting, the CM said that Telangana faced ‘humiliation’ in United AP. Telangana was also neglected during the last 10 years. The Congress Government will organise Telangana Thalli celebrations on December 9 every year so that the humiliations of the past do not repeat, he said.
The CM said that the decision to install the Telangana Thalli statue was taken after discussing with cabinet colleagues and is intended to fulfil the aspirations of the people.
He said that earlier rulers decided to use ‘TS’ instead of ‘TG’ for vehicle registrations against the wishes of Telangana activists. That is why the Congress Government decided to use TG for vehicle registrations, he said.
“Today, we are organising this programme like a festival so that all our thoughts should be surrounded by Telangana Thalli. The government decided to recognise, honour and support poets who gave up everything for Telangana. Guda Anjaiah, Gaddar, Bandi Yadagiri, Andesri, Goreti Venkanna, Suddala Ashok Teja, Jayaraju, Pasham Yadagiri and Ekka Yadagiri Rao have been recognised. The government will provide them with a 300-yard house plot, a cash award of Rs 1 crore and a felicitation letter,” the CM said.
He said the mammoth gathering here reflects the combined flow of the Krishna and Godavari rivers.
The CM said, “Mother is the only identity in any part of the world. Mother is the embodiment of our culture and traditions.”
He said that the famous ‘Jaya Jaya he Telangana’ song, which inspired us during the TG movement was not declared as the state song for 10 years.
“The ‘people’s government’ declared the song as the Telangana song. I will remember the felicitation of famous poet Andesri at the secretariat forever, the CM said.
He said that various political parties have created different types of Telangana Thalli statues. However, the image of Telangana Thalli has not been officially declared so far. The Congress Government officially declared the mother of the masses as Telangana Thalli, he said.
Revanth said that the Telangana Thalli statue inspires us as it is like a replica of our mothers. December 9 is an auspicious day for Telangana and a day for celebrations, he said.
