Man kills two daughters, ends life

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his two daughters and later committed suicide at Kancharapalem here on Thursday.

Police said that Pilla Durga Anjaneya Prasad (40) was eking out a livelihood as an auto-rickshaw driver. His wife died in 2013 and he had been taking care of his two daughters since then. They were living in a rented house.

The mother of deceased Pilla Anjaneya Prasad went to his house but she found the doors locked. When there was no response, she phoned her son, and she did not get a response.

On suspicion, the neighbours informed the matter to police who broke open the door and found the bodies of Bindu Madhavi (14) and Bhargavi (13).

Anjaneya Prasad committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling fan in the same house. Police suspect that Anjaneya Prasad committed suicide after killing his two daughters. Financial problems might have forced him to kill his daughters and end his life, the police said.
A case was registered and the bodies were shifted to the KGH for postmortem.
