Medical devices in government hospitals across the State should be in working condition and operational, said Minister for Medical, Health and Family Welfare Vidadala Rajini. The Minister issued orders that a special dash board should be set up to monitor the medical devices and ensure that they are operational. Minister Rajini held a review meeting with the officials concerned on Wednesday.
Minister Rajini stated that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was keen on the medical and health sector and had been spending a lot on the maintenance of medical facilities. The goals of the government were to ensure that all those devices worked, and they should be continuously monitored. She instructed that initiatives should be taken to have natural parturitions (deliveries) in government hospitals, for that, if necessary, pregnant women should be made aware of special yogasanas and further instructed that steps should be taken to make pregnant women aware of yogasanas through CHOs in health clinics.
She said that the officials should identify the number of private hospitals that were doing parturitions through surgeries and to initiate measures to promote natural parturitions. She directed the officials to take steps to allocate separate rooms for breastfeeding mothers in all hospitals. She made it clear that all the State level nodal officers for all the programmes implemented under NHM must visit all the districts. She ordered that in adolescent girls, haemoglobin levels should be tested once every three months, and girls with low haemoglobin in blood should be given special attention to solve the problem.
The Minister further said that the medical staff should be vigilant in the case of diseases like iodine deficiency, sickle cell anaemia, thalassemia and anaemia. She ordered them to collect details of all those suffering from such diseases and take preventive measures. She further ordered to examine the possibility of providing ultrasound scanning and other facilities in all the hospitals in the affected areas through PPP method and steps should be taken to get funds for these services through Arogyasri.
The minister said that all the UPHCs in the State have been upgraded. She said that medical examinations have been increased.
She said that the number of medicines has also increased significantly. He praised that the medical staff has also been made fully available and all the UPHCs across the state are performing well. M.T.Krishna Babu, Chief Secretary Medical Health Department, Commissioner Health Family Welfare Department and NHM Mission Director J.Nivas, NHM SPM Dr. Ravikiran, DH Ramireddy, State Level Nodal Office, were present.
Minister Rajini instructed to bring awareness among masses on tele-consultations and encourage the public to use the system.
