Medico killed in blade attack by jilted lover

In a gruesome incident, a medical girl student was brutally murdered by jilted lover at Takkellapadu village in Pedakakani mandal on Monday night.

Circle Inspector Suresh said that the deceased – Tapaswi – was studying MBBS third year at a private college. She was staying at Takkellapadu with her friend. She had reportedly been in love with the accused – Jnaneswar – for some time. When her parents reprimanded her for the love affair, she stopped speaking to him and kept a distance.

At around 9 pm on Monday, Jnaneswar barged into Tapaswi’s room, picked up an argument and slit her throat with a surgical blade. Her friend rushed out and screamed for help. A profusely bleeding Tapaswi was shifted to a private hospital in Mangalagiri where she was declared brought dead. After attacking her with the surgical blade, the accused Jnaneswar inflicted injuries on his hand with the blade. He was arrested by the police.

The CI said that the deceased Tapaswi and accused Jnaneswar became friends through Instagram. Both the deceased Tapaswi and the accused belong to Krishna district.
