Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna has said that the TDP lost the 2019 elections due to caste-based politics, corruption, and fraudulent policies, and Lokesh should remember it. The minister warned that if Lokesh speaks disrespectfully to the verdict given by the people in the election, the people will teach a lesson to Lokesh.
In a release on Monday, the Minister reacted strongly to Lokesh’s remarks that it was not the TDP that lost the 2019 elections, but the people, youth, young men, and women.
Nagarjuna suggested to Lokesh to ask Chandrababu Naidu why the people rejected the TDP in the last election and gave a landslide victory to the YSRCP.
The Minister said that it is ridiculous that Lokesh who has never won an election even as a ward member, was misinterpreting the people’s verdict. Lokesh should first know why the people rejected TDP and why he was defeated in Mangalagiri. Chandrababu, who has become a brand ambassador for caste politics, criticised SivaramaKrishnan’s report on setting up capital and declared Amaravati as the capital to transform his own community people wealthier. He accused Chandrababu of favoring his own community in all the schemes. The Minister recalled that Chandrababu Naidu won the 2014 election with the slogan “Babu Vaste – Job Vastadi” (If Chandrababu Naidu comes to power, unemployed youth in AP will get a job) and cheated the unemployed youth in the state without giving a single job, criticized the Minister.
Minister Nagarjuna said that during the TDP rule an Industrial Investment Summit was organized in Vizag in the name of Sunrise AP, after spending crores of rupees, the TDP boasted that agreements worth Rs 6 lakh crores were signed but miserably ended up with less than Rs 1,000 crores. In the 2014 elections, Chandrababu made more than 600 promises and failed to fulfill even ten of them. Ignoring that fact Lokesh was criticizing CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration.
Nagarjuna alleged that in every scheme implemented during the TDP regime, large-scale corruption and bribes to brokers/middlemen in the name of Janma Bhoomi Committees and looting the government money. But in the present YSRCP government under the governance of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, there is no corruption, and crores of rupees under various welfare schemes are being distributed directly through DBT to the people. Nagarjuna said that Lokesh is not competent to criticize CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.
