State Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy has announced that strict measures will be implemented to make Andhra Pradesh an accident-free state, and the NDA coalition government is committed to fulfilling its electoral promises.
Speaking to the media at a press conference at the Jana Sena party office in Dharmavaram town on Saturday, the Minister expressed grief over the recent tragedy in Mogali Ghat in Bangurapalem mandal of Chittoor district, where eight people died and 33 others were injured. He stated that accident-prone areas across all 175 constituencies in the state would be identified, with special measures put in place to prevent future accidents.
The Minister also highlighted the difficulties faced by RTC employees following the merger of RTC with the state government by the previous YSRCP administration. He noted that 1,400 new buses have already been purchased, with 600 currently in operation; the remaining buses will be deployed soon. Additionally, electric buses are expected to be introduced by RTC shortly.
Minister Mandipalli urged former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to avoid engaging in negative politics against the NDA government. He mentioned that public issues unresolved for the past five years have been addressed, including the provision of pensions over the last three months. He also announced that a free RTC bus service for women would be launched statewide shortly.
Regarding the recent floods in Vijayawada, the Minister reported that approximately 300,000 people were affected. The government, under the Chief Minister’s guidance, is working diligently to support those impacted. Ministers, MLAs, MPs, and senior officials are also contributing their efforts.
