Member of the Rajya Sabha and YSRCP national general secretary V Vijayasai Reddy has criticised the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its chief Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of resorting to violence as a last resort due to their apprehension about not returning to power in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Taking to social media on Sunday, the MP expressed concern over the TDP’s strategy of encouraging other political parties to spread false propaganda against the ruling YSRCP government. He emphasized that such tactics were failing to create a negative impression on the government’s performance.

Highlighting Chandrababu Naidu’s behaviour, the MP accused him of playing a dangerous game in the state with the sole intention of returning to power by any means necessary. He alleged that while in power, Chandrababu preaches ethics, but as soon as he finds himself in opposition, he resorts to promoting violence.

The MP recalled past instances where the TDP had called for a bandh and pointed out the resulting violence, including the burning of buses and looting of shops. Chandrababu Naidu would reportedly hold evening reviews and reprimand party leaders if the bandh did not cause enough disruption.

The YSRCP national general secretary V Vijayasai Reddy urged all political parties to engage in constructive dialogue and responsible actions rather than resorting to violence or spreading false information to gain political advantage.
