YSRCP State general secretary and Government Advisor, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Saturday made explosive allegations against former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. Reddy claimed that Naidu masterminded Sharmila’s recent entry into the Congress party as part of a broader conspiracy to destabilise the YSRCP government led by YS Jagan.
Reddy criticised Naidu’s purported ties with the Congress party and portrayed Sharmila’s move as a component of a larger scheme influenced by Naidu’s control over political dynamics, including BJP and Pawan Kalyan. He underscored the role of media manipulation and political manoeuvring in Naidu’s tactics. Addressing specific incidents, Reddy raised questions about Sharmila’s interactions, such as her travel on CM Ramesh’s flight and discussions with BTech Ravi and brother Anil. He suggested these were not mere coincidences but part of a broader plan orchestrated by Naidu to target YS Jagan and the YSRCP.
While acknowledging Sharmila’s right to choose her political path, Reddy asserted that once she joins, she will become the leader of the Congress party. Drawing historical parallels, he highlighted attempts to curb Jagan and the YSRCP during its early days. Touching upon suspicions surrounding Congress’s relationship with the late YSR’s death, Reddy accused Naidu of maintaining secret connections with Congress behind the scenes. He claimed that Naidu was attempting to rejuvenate Congress and tarnish Jagan’s image through Sharmila’s entry.
Shifting focus, Reddy expressed concern over the ongoing Anganwadi strike, urging pregnant women and children to call it off. He clarified that Anganwadi services do not fall under emergency services, citing the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA). Reddy stressed the need for timely supplies of ration and nutritious food for pregnant women and children. Addressing the demands of the strikers, Reddy claimed that almost all demands had been met, with only one economic aspect pending resolution. He criticized the insistence on immediate resolution post-election, emphasizing the government’s prior request to call off the strike.
Reddy questioned the restraint and actions of Naidu during his governance, alluding to instances of force used against protesters. He remarked on the irony of Lokesh criticizing Jagan, alleging that Lokesh himself had been an inspiration to Naidu’s governance style. The statement also briefly addressed the recent entry of cricketer Ambati Rayudu into the YSRCP, expressing curiosity about the reasons behind Rayudu’s decision.
