Naidu is an opportunistic politician: Kesineni Nani

Must read

Local MP Kesineni Srinivas Rao (Nani) has strongly criticised TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for his opportunistic manoeuvres, especially his current efforts in New Delhi to ally with the BJP. Kesineni Nani, who recently defected to YSRCP, accused the opposition leader of being willing to breach any ethical boundary for his gain. However, it seems the electorate of Andhra Pradesh is not inclined to trust him again in the upcoming elections.
Highlighting Naidu’s history of shifting allegiances, Kesineni Nani pointed out that despite previously exiting the NDA, Naidu is now attempting to re-enter the national political fold. Naidu’s ongoing meetings with top BJP leaders to negotiate seat-sharing for Andhra Pradesh’s Lok Sabha seats mark his second such endeavour in recent months, the last one ending inconclusively.
MP Nani asserted that Chandrababu Naidu’s readiness to overcome any obstacle for personal gain is evident. However, he emphasized that the people of the state are not inclined to trust him. Taking a swipe at Naidu’s current visit to the national capital, Nani demanded that the TDP leader explain his decision to leave the NDA alliance and his sudden eagerness to rejoin it.
Reflecting on TDP’s parliamentary strategy, the former TDP member revealed that he had tabled a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 18, 2018, at Naidu’s behest. Initially, Naidu had pressed for a stimulus package from the Centre but later shifted focus to advocating for Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh.
Kesineni Nani further alleged that the opposition leader had colluded with Congress to undermine TDP’s prospects in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He accused Naidu of harbouring ambitions of becoming the Prime Minister of India while grooming his son, Nara Lokesh, for the state’s chief ministerial position. Additionally, he criticized Naidu for resorting to personal attacks on PM Modi through hunger strikes.
