Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Government Advisor (Public Affairs) and YSRCP general secretary, said that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu cannot escape from the IT notices which prove that he is corrupt and is not above the law. On many occasions, Chandrababu escaped by making excuses and now he is afraid of arrest.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy clarified that the facts that they have been saying so far that there are proofs of Chandrababu’s corrupt activities turned out to be true. He found fault with AP BJP unit president Daggubati Purandeswari who termed IT notices served on Chandrababu as a small and routine thing. She is trying to protect Chandrababu in this issue. He said that the strange thing is that Chandrababu’s adopted son Pawan Kalyan has not responded to the IT notices.
The Left party leaders are also tight-lipped and stated that if Chandrababu is found guilty in the IT scam case, he should be punished.
He refuted the allegations of TDP that YSRCP was behind IT notices and pointed out the IT department works under the union government and they issued notices on the basis of proofs and evidence.
Sajjala stated that Chandrababu has also written several letters to the Income Tax Department which shows his direct involvement in Rs 118 crore kickbacks. “We have no intention of implicating Chandrababu in any case. Otherwise, when YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power, we would have filed cases against him and would have put him behind bars but we don’t need that. In relation to the Amaravati development works, the Secretariat, TIDCO house construction and skill development scandals, the documents belonging to Shapoorji and Pallonji organisations gave the details of how much money has been given to them in the notices issued by IT.”
The Government Advisor criticised the TDP leaders and Chandrababu for not responding to the notices of the Income Tax Department and making accusations against YSRC and CM Jagan. He said, “In fact, if Chandrababu has not committed any crime and does not take donations, then he should go to the Income Tax Department and report the matter. But Naidu is trying to portray himself as honest by exploiting him by saying that he can be arrested instead, he added.
Ramakrishna Reddy said that the rate given for construction of temporary buildings of Assembly and Secretariat is highly corrupt. He pointed out that the contract awarded for the construction of 6 lakh square feet is a sum of more than Rs 600 crore, that means per square foot more than Rs 10,000 have been paid. He further pointed out that in the construction of houses for the poor (TIDCO) Rs.2,200 was given by Chandrababu, actually at that time in the construction of that house the SFT was not more than Rs 1,000, but Chandrababu’s government has hit the pockets of the poor and robbed them too. He said that Chandrababu’s vicious corruption in constructions and homes for the poor (TIDCO) in the capital was known at that time, but now the evidence has come out.
He said that YSRC gives full support to the issue of linking voter card to Aadhaar and they informed the Election Commission about this matter in the past i.e. during Chandrababu 2018 when bogus votes were included.
