Megastar Chiranjeevi is teaming up with director Anil Ravipudi for an upcoming film set to go on floors soon. According to reliable sources, the female leads have almost been finalised.
Anil Ravipudi reportedly travelled to Chennai on Thursday to narrate the script and discuss remuneration with Nayanthara. One of the busiest and highest-paid actresses in the South, Nayanthara is currently working on Toxic, starring Kannada star Yash, which is set for a pan-India release next year.
In a surprising twist, Nayanthara—who played Chiranjeevi’s sister in Godfather—is now being cast as his romantic interest. The source adds that discussions have been ongoing for a few weeks and Thursday’s meeting was to finalise the deal.
While she quoted a high fee, the makers seem to have reached an understanding on her paycheck. An official announcement is expected once she signs the agreement. Catherine Tresa is also part of the cast; she had previously worked in Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya, but was paired opposite Ravi Teja in that film.
The film is jointly produced by Sahu Garapati and Sushmitha Konidela and is slated for a Sankranthi 2026 release.
