Giving a call to Congress leaders to make the two-month ‘Hath se Hath Jodo Abhiyan,’ which starts on January 26 a success, the new Telangana Congress affairs in-charge, Manikrao Thakre, said that TPCC President Revanth Reddy’s proposed yatra will be discussed later.

Thakre said that he doesn’t think there are any differences among Congress leaders in Telangana. He said that he spoke to seniors and others and will try his best to unite all Congress leaders to bring the party to power in Telangana.

“I came to Telangana to identify problems in the Congress. However, Thakre stressed the need for leaders to work in unison as elections are approaching. He said the leaders have to work as one man to bring the party to power and that all leaders will have to participate in the ‘Hath se Hath Jodo Abhiyan’ to take the message of Rahul Gandhi to every household. He said the party has to complete appointing committees for the ‘Hath se Hath Jodo Abhiyan’ programme.

Addressing the media after two days of consultations with Congress leaders in his first visit to the state, Thakre said that former AICC president Sonia Gandhi, AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge and the AICC General Secretary (organisation) had appointed him as the in-charge of Telangana Congress.

“I have to listen to all my leaders. It is my responsibility and I will do my duty. I will make Telangana leaders do some assignments. The party’s cadres are united and it is a good one. Leaders too have to work in unison,” he said.

Thakre said that he will come again on January 20 and will stay till January 22. He said that he will discuss party programmes staying in TS and that he will speak to TS leaders once again.

“I met leaders of the state for two days. I came to Telangana for the first time. I tried to study the political conditions here. The leaders of the state have made some suggestions. I listened to them. We will conduct programmes to strengthen the party organisation here. We will work jointly to ensure the victory of the Congress,” he said.

Responding to a question, Thakre said that Komatireddy Venkat did not attend the meetings held in Gandhi Bhavan as he was busy. “Venkat has no complaints. He said that he will attend the next meeting. Congress leaders are ready to work jointly,” he said.
