HMWSSB said that there are sufficient reserves for the drinking water needs of the people of Hyderabad this summer, and therefore there will not be any problem in water supply.
For the drinking water needs of Hyderabad city residents, HMWSSB is moving 270 MGD of water per day from Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir and Akkampally Balancing Reservoir through Krishna Drinking Water Supply Phase – 1, 2, 3. According to this calculation, it supplies 1.38 TMC feet of water per month. But as on Wednesday, the water storage capacity of Nagarjuna Sagar is 157.61 TMC feet, 524.50 feet. On the same day last year, there was 188.95 TMC feet, 540.30 feet of water. As there is usually 25.941 TMC feet of dead storage in the reservoir and 510 feet of water available for use, there will be no shortage of drinking water for the city of Hyderabad this summer.

Moreover, the officials of the water drainage department assured that they will take all measures to supply the required water for the next four months i.e. by the end of this August by working in coordination.
