No let-up in atrocities on SCs, STs: Bharat

Must read

Local MP Margni Bharat Ram has said that atrocities are continuing against the SCs and STs even now and called upon all to draw inspiration from Jyotirao Phule to fight against the caste disparity.
The MP, along with YSRCP leaders, paid rich tributes to Jyotirao Phule on his 133rd death anniversary here on Tuesday by garlanding the statue of Phule.
Speaking on the occasion, he called upon people to draw inspiration from Phule and strive to do justice to the underprivileged sections.
He regretted that social justice for the underprivileged sections is still far away even after seven and half decades of Independence in the country. The selfishness of successive rulers is the main reason for social justice remains unfulfilled.
The MP emphasised the need for a caste census to do justice to the underprivileged sections. The political parties are considering the SC/ST/BC and minorities as vote banks disregarding their welfare, he lamented.
“Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a historical decision to conduct a caste census in the state. All should thank the Chief Minister for the same. We can go one step forward with the caste census in providing social justice and the leaders of the communities can get power of positions as per the caste population proportion,” the MP asserted.
Justice is being meted out to the backward communities in the YSRCP-led government, he claimed. MP Margani Bharat Ram also underlined the need for education for the underprivileged sections.
Later the MP inspected the progress of the construction works of the Ambedkar building. BC JAC chairman Margani Nageswara Rao, former MLA R Suryaprakash Rao, Margani Suresh, and Kadiyala Lakshmana Rao were among those who participated in the programme.
