‘No plan to hike AP Fibernet basic plan price’

APSFL Chairman Dr P Gautham Reddy has condemned the ongoing ‘false propaganda’ of increasing the prices of AP FiberNet basic plan. Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, the APSFL Chairman said that the government had no plans to increase the basic plan prices. Currently, they are providing internet services for Rs 190 through AP FiberNet. Gautham Reddy announced that service centers of AP FiberNet boxes were going to be set up in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati areas soon.

He announced the resolutions, decisions and future action plan taken during the APSFL board meeting. He said that the State government had brought many key changes in the APSFL and extended it to other regions, besides providing high-speed internet services. He said that a key decision had been taken to use the AP FiberNet in Jagananna colonies and Tidco houses also. It has been clarified that if the AP FiberNet is removed and other networks are used in these colonies, action will be taken as per the APSFL.

He said that measures were being taken to ensure the use of AP FiberNet in Jagananna colonies and Tidco houses in many areas.

Gautham Reddy said that AP FiberNet was a network of 15 lakh connections and was currently providing services to more than 6 lakh connections. Steps are being taken in accordance with the ideas of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to increase the number of connections. He announced that they would soon launch their own app through APSFL on the lines of Hotstar and Aha. Movies, videos and speeches of celebrities can be watched on the APSFL app, and also movies on the day of their release in theatres.

Gautham Reddy said that APSFL had taken up projects and given connections in other government departments like village and ward secretariats, Rythu Bharosa Kendras, Health, Medical Family Health Care Centers, AP State Housing Corporation etc. He said that the State had received Rs 500 crore as part of the BBNL project and another Rs 500 crore was due. He said that about 50 lakh new boxes were required across the State and tenders were being called for 20 lakh boxes.
