NTPC Simhadri contributes Rs 1 cr for Anakapalli Indoor Stadium. Contribution aimed at supporting development and enhancing sports facilities in the region

NTPC Simhadri has released the second instalment of Rs 1 crore to the District Collector of Anakapalli for the redevelopment and refurbishment of the Anakapalli Indoor Stadium. This contribution, part of NTPC’s strategic activity, is aimed at supporting development and enhancing sports facilities in the region.
Sanjay Kumar Sinha, CGM-NTPC Simhadri, handed over the cheque to District Collector Vijaya Krishnan, accompanied by DGM (HR) Anikumar and K. Prakasa Rao, Manager (HR/CSR). Expressing his thoughts on the initiative, Sinha stated, “NTPC is deeply committed to contributing to the holistic development of the regions we operate in. The redevelopment of the Anakapalli Indoor Stadium is a vital project that aligns with our vision of enhancing infrastructure. We believe this facility will play a crucial role in promoting sports and youth development in the district.”
This contribution brings the total amount released for the project to Rs 1.65 crore. “We are grateful for NTPC’s continued partnership in this important project. The redevelopment of the Indoor Stadium will provide state-of-the-art facilities for local athletes and youth, encouraging more participation in sports activities,” the Collector said.
NTPC Simhadri has consistently demonstrated its commitment to development and environmental protection.
The power plant has invested heavily in pollution mitigation and environmental conservation, spending nearly Rs 1,000 crore on equipment and systems. NTPC Simhadri has planted over seven lakh trees and contributed Rs 6 crore towards conservation of Olive Ridley turtles.
