Must read

The district officials did not permit Pawan Kalyan’s meeting to be organised at Uppada Kothapalli on Tuesday.
Jana Sena party sources said that Pawan Kalyan had to address women activists and leaders belonging to the fishermen community at Uppada Kottapalli. The JSP legal cell members applied for permission 48 hours earlier but the officials did not say anything till the last minute. The JSP leaders booked a function hall for Pawan Kalyan’s meeting.
Meanwhile, a large number of women and JSP leaders converged at the village hoping that the meeting would be held and Pawan Kalyan addressed them. Pawan Kalyan went to Uppada Kothapalli and waited patiently for permission till the last minute.
As a large number of women went to the village to attend the meeting, Pawan Kalyan interacted with them for about four minutes. He did not make any political comments during his interaction with the women.
However, the reason for not permitting Pawan Kalyan’s meeting was not known, JSP sources told the media. The JSP leaders expressed their anger over the officials for not responding when permission was sought to hold an election meeting. The JSP respects the institutions and the election officials, they said, adding that they are following the model code of conduct.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan while interacting with the people at the villages assured them of serving them like their family members.
“I will make Pithapuram my native town and will be accessible to the people always. I will take responsibility of resolving the grievances of the people of the constituency. I will strive to develop Pithapuram constituency as a model constituency,” he told the women.
Since the election code of conduct is enforced all should follow the code of conduct, he said. Kakinada JSP MP Candidate T Uday Srinivas, Dr Jyotula Srinivas and other leaders were among those who accompanied Pawan Kalyan.
Earlier, Pawan Kalyan visited the Bashir Bibi Auliya Dargah at Ponnada village and participated in prayers. He broke a coconut at Ursu in the Dargah.  In the evening, BJP Assembly candidates Y Sujana Chowdary and Kamineni Srinivas, TDP MLA Nimmakayala Chinarajappa called on Pawan Kalyan.
