PHONE TAPPING They snooped on HC judges too

In the phone-tapping case the names of High Court judges also reportedly emerged along with political leaders and businessmen as their phones were also allegedly tapped by the accused in this case.
The Public Prosecutor has cited a High Court judge in the argument of 10 days custody petition of Task Force former DCP Radha Kishan Rao on Tuesday in the court hearing about the police custody petition at Nampally criminal court. He argued that a High Court judge, political leaders and businessman’s phones were tapped. So the police need Radha Kishan Rao’s police custody to extract more information about phone tapping. After hearing the argument of the police custody petition on Tuesday the court has reserved the order for Wednesday.  The advocate of Radha Kishan Rao said that in the hearing, the remand report of the Panjagutta police has named two inspectors named Venkata Rao and Srikanth. The advocate for the accused said that the accused has not done any illegal activity. He has done his duty. His job was to know about illegal activities.
The counsel for Radha Kishan Rao argued that the police have sought the police custody of Radha Kishan Rao but the police did not mention any particular information in the remand report as whose cash was seized,

the number of cases filed and the number of FIRs registered as the police are accusing. Also no witness has been mentioned in the remand report.
Meanwhile, the police has filed a petition to seek permission from the court to get the accused call data from the respective telecom operators when they were working. Counsel on the behalf of the police said that the accused illegally transported money in the election time and also carried out certain actions in a politically biased manner.
The counsel mentioned that it would be helpful to the police to get the names of the persons whom the accused had called and whether the call data received from the telecom operators. After hearing the case on Tuesday the order was reserved.
The custody of Additional SPs Bhujanga Rao and Thirupathanna, who were arrested in this phone tapping case, ended on April 2. So the police produced them in the Nampally court and the court remanded the two accused to judicial remand till April 6. Later, the police took the two persons to Chanchalguda jail.
It may be mentioned here that as per the remand report during the 2018 general elections, later bypolls and in the 2023 Assembly elections, the SIB and Task Force targeted opposition parties and transported the money to help the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
