Officials directed to expedite JJM works to provide drinking water

District Collector Nishanth Kumar directed the officials concerned to expedite the works of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) to provide protected drinking water to every household.
The Collector inspected the works of Jal Jeevan Mission at Maripivalasa and Appayyapet villages in Sitanagaram mandal on Wednesday.
The Collector said that safe water should be provided to every household to protect the health of the people through the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme. The drinking water would be provided to every household under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district, the Collector said. The Collector directed the officials to provide a tap connection to every household.
Making it clear that there is no dearth of funds, the Collector instructed the officials concerned to expedite the works and complete the pending works by one week. He also directed them to maintain quality in the works. District RWS officials O Prabhakar Rao explained to the Collector about the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission works at the village. He told the Collector 300 tap connections are being provided at Maripivalasa village and 430 connections in Appayyapet village to households, adding that 1500 more tap connections to be given in the mandal.
