Opposition playing petty politics over ration cards: Uttam

Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy accused the opposition of engaging in petty politics regarding the distribution of ration cards.
Speaking at the Jan Pahad Dargah in Huzurnagar’s Palakeedu mandal on Friday, Uttam said the BRS is spreading lies as they could not stomach the Congress Government’s commitment to the poor.
The BRS during its decade-long rule had refused to issue new white ration cards, he said. “They do not have the moral right to criticise the Congress Government, which is now trying to provide ration cards to all eligible individuals,” he said.
Uttam said the Congress Government is fully committed to issuing ration cards to all eligible individuals and added that there is no possibility for confusion in the ration card issuing process. Dismissing opposition claims as baseless he said that the issue of ration cards is a continuous process and would not stop till everyone eligible got them.
