Nadendla Manohar, Chairman of the Jana Sena Party’s Political Affairs Committee, asserted that a staggering 8,03,612 complaints have been lodged against the YSRCP-led government by concerned citizens.
Speaking at a press conference held at the state office in Mangalagiri on Friday, Manohar revealed that among these complaints, over two lakh were specifically targeted at ministers and their activities, while 4,39,679 were directed towards ruling party MLAs and MLCs.
“Over the past four years, a total of 8,03,612 complaints have been filed via the 14400 helpline. However, the government has shown no inclination to investigate these grievances. Additionally, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has failed to provide transparency by refraining from disclosing details regarding corruption cases and inquiries,” criticized Manohar.
He further lamented the lack of action against high-ranking officials, noting, “While the ACB has been swift to target lower-level employees in Tahsildar and registrar offices, no action has been taken against top-tier officials. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s inquiry about the ACB Director-General speaks volumes about his commitment to governance,” Manohar claimed.
Manohar derided the Chief Minister’s self-assertion that his government is corruption-free, citing instances of alleged corruption totalling Rs 91,000 crore in the education and finance departments and irregularities in implementing schemes like Jagananna colonies and land procurement.
Highlighting a report by the Indian Institute of Management, Allahabad, Manohar accused the government of suppressing the findings and recommendations aimed at curbing corruption. “The government’s reluctance to implement these suggestions further underscores its lack of commitment to combating corruption,” he criticised.
