Minister for Health and Medical Services, Vidadala Rajini, announced that the Government Medical College in Paderu will commence operations in the upcoming academic year of 2024-25. The Minister visited the construction site of the medical college in Paderu to inspect the progress.
During her address, Minister Rajini said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has allocated a budget of Rs 500 crore for the construction of the Medical College in Paderu. She disclosed that the government has set aside funds totalling Rs 600 crore for the establishment of another medical college in Manyam Parvathipuram, with a focus on serving tribal communities. Consequently, a total of five medical colleges are slated to begin operations this academic year.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to providing quality healthcare to tribal regions by investing Rs 264 crore in the construction of five super specialty hospitals across the state.
MT Krishna Babu, Special Chief Secretary for Health, Medical and Family Welfare, along with Paderu MLA Bhagyalakshmi, Araku MP Goddeti Madhavi, Araku MLA Setty Phalguna, and several other dignitaries were present.
