A panchayat secretary was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting Rs 20,000 bribe from a person, according to Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials.
The arrested was identified as Jagadish, panchayat secretary of Suddala village under Konaraopeta mandal.
Jagadish demanded Rs 20,000 bring from a builder to approve building plan. Bandari, the builder, approached the ACB officials who trapped the panchayat secretary red-handed.
ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramana Murthy said that Jagadish would be produced before the magistrate of the ACB Court.
