PK braves hurdles to visit Rushikonda

Must read

VISAKHAPATNAM: Despite police restrictions, Jana Sena chief K Pawan Kalyan embarked on a visit to Rushikonda on Friday. The authorities had set up barricades at Jodugullapalem, Visalakshinagar, and Zoo Park, effectively curtailing the entry of JSP activists. The police, while dissuading Pawan Kalyan from approaching Rushikonda Hill directly, guided him to stay on the road at a certain distance. A posse of police officers, under the leadership of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), was deployed in the vicinity. Notwithstanding the police constraints, Pawan Kalyan has managed to reach the controversial Rushikonda site. There, he engaged with party leaders who provided insights into the ongoing excavation on the hill. Addressing the media on this occasion, Pawan Kalyan asserted that leaders from the YSRCP were exploiting the natural resources of northern Andhra Pradesh.

He raised questions regarding the approvals granted for constructing structures on Rushikonda Hill, a vital buffer against natural calamities for the city.

“The YSRCP leaders have set their sights on the lands of northern AP districts. Their encroachments span both government and private properties without discrimination. The wanton depletion of resources by YSRCP officials needs to be exposed to the public,” he voiced.

Pawan Kalyan highlighted that while the government acknowledged minor transgressions at Rushikonda, the actual violations were far from minor and had occurred on a significant scale. He criticised the Chief Minister’s proposal to establish three capitals, emphasising the absence of even a single definitive capital for Andhra Pradesh.
