Dr Ambati Naga Radhakrishna Yadav, chairman of the YSRCP Doctors Cell, NTR district, has strongly condemned the remarks made by Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan against volunteers. Terming the allegations ‘baseless and politically motivated’, he recalled that public data breach was registered during the rule of the Telugu Desam-Jana Sena-BJP coalition government. Dr Ambati wrote an open letter to Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday regarding data breach and silence of Pawan at that time.

Dr Radhakrishna said that two incidents of data breach took place and in both the incidents, Pawan’s partners were heading the government. He pointed out that the extent of the breach was such that the World Economic Forum’s (WEF’s) Global Risks Report-2019 had a special mention of the incident.

The Doctors Cell chairman stated that the government data from the Smart Pulse Survey, which was linked to the State Resident Data Hub (SRDH), containing demographic data of Aadhaar and electoral rolls prepared by the ECI were misused. He further said that the IT Grids India Pvt Limited, based in Madhapur, had done several applications and other IT solutions for various AP government departments and was also the developer of the TDP’s ‘Sevamitra’ app. He claimed that the app allegedly breached the data of 3.4 crore voters of Andhra Pradesh.

He explained that WEF’s Global Risks Report-2019 said, “The largest (data breach) was in India, where the government ID database, Aadhaar, reportedly suffered multiple breaches that potentially compromised the records of all 1.1 billion registered citizens. It was reported in January 2018 that few were selling access to the database at a rate of Rs 500 for 10 minutes, while in March a leak at a State-owned utility company allowed anyone to download names and ID numbers.”

Dr Radhakrishna said that Pawan seemed to be comfortable with the two incidents as he did not utter a word against the data breach and surprisingly now KP was crying foul levelling baseless allegations against the volunteer system without a drop of evidence to even think in those lines. He said that Pawan levelled those allegations to get political mileage, but people knew the truth and would distrust those fake allegations.

He added that the volunteers were young, educated youth who earned dignity in the society by their selfless service round the clock.
