Political parties in Telangana are now in ‘Month-end Mania’ and are busy organising public meetings as elections are approaching.
The three main political parties, the BRS, the BJP and the Congress, are organising public meetings at the end of August giving importance to the predictions made by Congress leaders.
The ruling BRS is organising two meetings on August 20 and 23. The Congress is conducting two meetings, one at Chevella and the second one at Warangal.
The BJP is conducting a meeting at Khammam on August 27. The Congress and the BJP are inviting AICC Chief Mallikarjuna Kharge and Union Home Minister Amit Shah respectively. BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao is attending two meetings as usual.
The Congress decided to organise a public meeting on August 26 at Chevella named ‘Praja Garjana.’ AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge will be the chief guest and will release the SC, ST Declaration at the meeting.
The Congress has also decided to conduct another meeting on August 29 at Warangal in which the party will release its Minority Declaration.
The TPCC appointed a sub-committee for the Minorities Declaration Draft Committee comprising Syed Azmathullah Husseini, Deepak John, Uzma Shakir, Prof. MD Riyaz, Ezekiel Birudugadda, Mohammed Perwaiz Khan alias Rashed Khan.
The party also said that it will appoint sub-committees to prepare OBC and Women Declaration Draft Committees soon. AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will release the Women’s Declaration.
Revanth said that the party will conduct field-level meetings in all constituencies from August 21 to August 25 to take the ‘Let’s Revolt–Let’s Chase’ programme to the people.
The BJP is planning to conduct a public meeting in Khammam on August 27. Union Minister Amit Shah is attending the meeting. Sources said that many leaders from various political parties, particularly from the BRS will join the BJP at the meeting.
Telangana BJP Election Management Committee Chairman Eatala Rajender said that 22 prominent leaders are going to join the BJP before or on the day Amit is coming to Telangana.
The party has invited 119 MLAs from Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Pondicherry and Karnataka and they have to tour their allocated constituencies till August 27.
These MLAs will assess the party’s winning chances, the party’s institutional construction, the leaders’ working style and the political scenario in the constituencies. They will prepare a report and will send it to the party high command.
Meanwhile, the BRS is conducting a public meeting in Suryapet on August 20 and another in Medak on August 23.
These meetings will be part of the inauguration of the offices of the Collector and SP. However, the BRS supremo will use the meetings for party campaigns as was done during the meetings organised for the same purpose in some districts.
