Ponguleti orders Collector to probe into CMR irregularities

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday directed District Collector Muzammil Khan to order a comprehensive probe into the irregularities taking place in t he custom milled rice (CMR).
He asked the Collector to take stringent action against the rice millers who defaulted on the handing over the custom milled rice to the government, which entrusted the paddy procured from farmers to the rice millers for the custom milling of the rice.
He sought information from the Collector the year-wise quantities of custom milled rice recoverable from the rice millers.
The Minister instructed the Collector to probe the role of the millers and government officials and take departmental action against those who are responsible for the irregularities.
