According to targets set by the government, the Kanti Velugu programme is being vigorously implemented throughout the state with advance plans, continuous monitoring, daily reviews, analysis, video conference meetings and correcting visual problems from time to time.

Under the Kanti Velugu programme so far 63,82,201 eye check-ups have been done and 11,40,050 reading glasses have been provided. Free medicines have been given to lakhs of vision-impaired people. Poor and middle-class families have saved thousands through government healthcare.

The figures recorded in the camps show that in all districts, there are many people who are suffering from long sight. Many people over the age of 40 came to the camps with long-sight problems. Reading glasses are provided to them immediately. Vitamin A, D and B complex tablets are also being distributed to a large number of people who come to the camps with eye problems.

People above the age of 50 are mostly suffering from cataracts. Doctors are giving instructions to those who have already undergone surgery and are suffering from other problems.
